Original equipment, and when to stop repairing it

A small lean at the post is a large drop at the far edge of the gate. The gate catches the ground or the leaves stop meeting, and the arm carries the load until something cracks. Where the fault turns out to be the motor itself, that is ordinary gate motor repair work rather than anything exotic.
Correcting the post is the repair. Adjusting the arm to force the gate through is the common alternative, and it is why the same gate comes back.
The annual half hour
Once a year, take everything that opens a gate on the property and try every gate, including the ones nobody uses.
